Mission Statement

The mission of Career Services is to support the educational philosophy and goals of the University and to equip our clients (students, scholars, alumni and community) with the ability to address lifelong career direction, transitions, issues and satisfaction by:

• Organizing and conducting educational workshops, courses and seminars;
• Providing individuals with career counseling and testing resources;
• Initiating and collaborating with other Rice programs;
• Responding to industry trends and issues affecting our clients in a creative and timely fashion;
• Advising employers on their tactical and strategic Rice recruiting plans;
• Facilitating contact and communication between employers and students through a wide spectrum of functions;
• Educating undergraduate and graduate students about the overall career planning process;
• Ensuring the professional development and ongoing education of our staff.

Location, Hours & Contact Information 

The Career Services Center is located on the first floor of  O'Connor House.  Our office hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Directions & Getting Here 

Rice provides general directions to campus and several campus maps.

We recommend entering campus via Entrance 1, off Main St)  O'Connor House is located on your right beyond the hedges.  Go to first stop sign and turn left, then park in one of the Lovett - Founders Court lot.  A fee is assessed upon exiting the parking lots and payment can be made via credit card.  The O'Connor House (#50 on the map) is the building with a circular drive directly in front and actually looks like a house. 

Free parking is available in the stadium lot at the west end of campus; there is a free shuttle service that stops the O'Connor House.
